Mary Adams had a dream 12 years ago to operate and own her own business. During the years she waited for her dream to be realized, she worked at an antique store in Bend, Oregon. When Mary moved to Moro she was inspired by two local women, Lisa Shafer, owner of Lisa's in Stitches; and Sherrie Slay-Martin, owner of Moro Now and Then. With this inspiration and some mentoring from the Small Business Development Center at Columbia Gorge Community College, she opened Zenith Parent-Teacher Supplies on August 21, 2008. Mary relied upon the expertise of another local woman entrepreneur and sign maker, Pat Jacobsen to make her sign.
Zenith Parent-Teacher Supplies is filled with educational toys, teaching tools, colorful maps and banners. Books and games fill the shelves in response to the local teacher's requests.
"I'm so excited to be able to offer these items in our community. Moro is a great place to do business. The community is very supportive of my efforts. We had a great grand opening weekend."
