A Small Business Beauty Story

Jackie Dills is a beautiful lady. Not only that but she is a professional beautifier of others. Jackie has been working at the Hair Parlor a beauty shop in downtown Nehalem for the past four years. Recently the owner of the shop decided to quit the business and move to Arizona to be with her husband who had accepted a job there. She offered to sell this 25 year old sucessful small business to Jackie.

Although she wanted very badly to be able to take the business she had one particular problem. Due to some student loans and the fact that she leased and did not even own her own car Jackie had a negative net worth.

You guessed it she and her mother went to the BizCenter in Tillamook where the counselor Jim Casey worked with her to create a business plan. With this she applied to Cascades West Financial for an SBA back Microloan.

With some help from her Mom who agreed to co-sign Jackie was able to borrow $10,000 and is now the proprietor of her very own hair salon and beauty parlor.

In addtion Jackie has joined the Tillamook BizCenter SBM class taught by the Director Barbara Bush and will have the opportunity to all the ins and outs of running a sucessful small business.
