Oregon SBDC Policies


The Oregon Small Business Development Center Network is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration and funded in part with Oregon State Lottery Funds administered by the Oregon Business Development Department under cooperative agreement 9-603001-Z-0039-26 through Lane Community College, Eugene, Oregon. SBDCs are a program supported by SBA and extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. SBA cannot endorse any products, opinions or services of any external parties or activities. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance by calling the State Office at 541-463-5250.

  Privacy Policy

All collected data is confidential. The information we collect is used to improve the content of our website, and services— and is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes. However, some information is reported to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

For each anonymous visitor to our website, our webserver automatically recognizes only the consumer's domain name, but not the visitor’s e-mail address. We ask for your zipcode because it helps us locate the SBDC nearest you, and sorts lists of workshops by their promximity to your location. We also collect aggregate information on what pages visitors access or visit, information volunteered by the visitors, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

For registered counseling client visitors to our website, we collect all the information entered on the Request for Counseling form. We are required to collect this information before we can provide you with free consulting services, and this information helps us tailor our services to your needs. Most of this information is transferred to a secure, internal client management system which is not accessible from the internet. The webserver only maintains login information and data on which the website can base resource recommendations.

With respect to cookies: We use cookies to record session information, to customize webpage content based on visitors' browser type and to store zipcode and login information. Cookies also store unique identifiers to help this site locate items a visitor may have added to an online shopping cart.

If you supply us with your postal address on-line you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new products and services or upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by writing to us at the below address.

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers on-line will only receive telephone contact from us with respect to counseling services, or potentially with information regarding orders they have placed on-line.

With respect to Ad Servers: We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our website periodically.

With respect to security: We always use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site, when we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial or health information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors through a pop-up screen on our site, we have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.
